As a Swedish citizen I’ve noticed that Sweden is very rigid in following the rules of the European Union, unlike other more southern countries in the EU who’s saying one thing and then continuing just as before. So when it comes to negotiations about offers, they’re acting in the same manner which is to purely looking at the numbers thus avoiding accusations of bribery etc. This have resulted in not only this deal with the icebreakers, we have several road projects around Stockholm and Gothenburg which have stalled completely due to foreign successful bids which haven’t been able to keep the budget when the work starts. On top of that we have several “Green Projects” that have stalled because the demands have been political and not by popular demand, here we have “Northvolt” and soon to be “Stegra”. It’s all about political correctness….sadly so!
