Discussing Icebreakers on NPR
Ayesha Rascoe interviewed me for a short piece that aired today on NPR's Weekend Edition
When I received a cold e-mail from a producer at NPR early last week, I thought he was reaching out for a background discussion. I’ve had the chance to talk to many folks about icebreakers and Arctic policy on background since launching Sixty Degrees North back in late February. But it turns out that NPR wanted to interview me for short piece that aired on today’s Weekend Edition.
The original interview was about 20 minutes in length, edited down to five minutes. As the story was designed for a general audience, I didn’t say anything that regular readers of mine will find new or surprising.

Facts in a nutshell. Have to find a way to build them in Finland and simultaneously transfer the knowhow including how to operate in ICE with a modern icebreaker
